Anver Bhayat BA(Law) LLB
Director
Anver graduated with a BA(Law) LLB degrees from the University of Durban-Westville (now known as the University of KwaZulu Natal). He was admitted as an attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa in 1989 and has Right of Appearance in the High Court of South Africa.
Anver started his own practice in 1991 and has gained vast experience in the fields of law as set out in the services rendered by the firm. Over the three decades of practice, Anver has gained experience as a litigator, arbitrator and mediator. He has extensive experience in all areas of the law and, in particular, commerce, tax disputes, bank recoveries, securities and land tenure matters.
Aside from providing legal services, Anver has dedicated time and effort over the years to serve the legal fraternity on various committees, which includes the Disciplinary and High Court Committees. He has also served the judiciary as an Acting Judge in the South Gauteng High Court.
Anver also serves as a trustee on The Lewis Trust Foundation, which is actively committed to nature conservation and animal protection.

Reza Bhayat LLB
Associate
Reza began his articles with the firm in 2014 and graduated with a LLB degree from UNISA in 2019.
He has experience and practices in all the areas of service provided by the firm. He particularly concentrates on general litigation, wills, trusts and administration of deceased estates. Reza enjoys researching and finding new ways to tackle challenging and unique legal questions. He prides himself on being able to connect with clients and understanding their needs.
As the next generation, Reza looks forward to adding to the firm’s legacy.
Outside of the law, Reza is an active sportsman. He plays golf, action cricket and outdoor cricket for the Old Lions Cricket Club based in Dainfern of which he is Club Captain and also serves as a committee member for the Club.

Merle Bhayat BCom Licentiate Banking Diploma
Practice Manager and Consultant
Merle is a BCom UNISA graduate. She also holds a Licentiate Banking Diploma from the Institute of Bankers in South Africa.
Merle joined the firm in 2009 as the Practice Manager and is responsible for the day to day operations as well as all statutory compliance.
She is also a consultant to the firm in the area of Banking and Finance Law resulting from years of her past banking, credit and finance experience at First National Bank. She also raised funding for management buyouts and B-BBEE transactions whilst with Brait Private Equity and Capitau Advisory Services (now Add Capital). This is of immense value to the firm when dealing with issues of this nature.
